Cocoon Fine Rugs is an award-winning premier carpet brand based out of Mumbai, India and is recognized for its sophisticated, modern designs and unique interpretation of classic Persian rugs produced using only the finest raw materials.
Cocoon has flagship galleries in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur and Kolkata and the beautiful galleries house exclusive contemporary rugs as well as oriental carpets with a fresh twist. Each piece is hand-made and created with love using the finest natural materials including pure silk and wool.
The signature collections are an influence from Ayush and Smriti’s personal travels around the world including Barcelona, Paris, Chicago and London. Besides carrying their own in-house collections, the brand also collaborates with leading interior designers and fashion houses like Ashiesh Shah, Studio PKA, Falguni Shane Peacock and JJ Valaya to name a few.

 ABOUT AYUSHAyush Choudhary founded Cocoon Fine Rugs in Mumbai in 2009. He has graduated with dual Undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA and dual Master’s degrees from the London School of Economics, UK. Ayush has deep emotional roots with carpets. He is the second generation in a rug design and manufacturing house. As a young boy, he has travelled extensively to visit carpet weavers in remote places around Rajasthan and Gujarat. These experiences trained his eye tremendously and helped to shape his unique design sensibilities with great understanding of textures, colour combinations and design. While still pursuing his Master’s at the London School of Economics and during one of his trips back home, he accidentally found himself in the middle of a very exciting retail opportunity for their carpet business – thus re-establishing his association with the world of carpets! He handles the day to day operations of the brand including strategy, operations, HR and finance. |
 ABOUT SMRITISmriti Choudhary joined the Cocoon team in 2018 as the Marketing Director. After having finished her Master’s in Marketing from the University of Nottingham, U.K, Smriti worked with a leading fashion house in Mumbai as the head of Marketing and PR for over 2 years. Soon after, the opportunity to join Cocoon Fine Rugs came up and she decided to take the new challenge up. Cocoon was on its growth path and she knew that she could play an important role in the next stage of growth for the brand. Smriti leads a young and dynamic team and plays a very important role in brand collaborations, events, outreach among interior designers and architects and also the digital strategy. |
